Party Rentals in NJ

Tents, tables, chairs, dance floors, food-service equipment — delivered, set up, picked up. From a 50-person graduation to a 200-person family reunion, we handle the gear so you can host.

Last June, a family in Lebanon Township called us on a Tuesday for a graduation party that Saturday — 75 cousins and neighbors, a Hunterdon County backyard with a slight slope, and a forecast that flipped from sun to thunderstorms three times that week. We set a 20x40 pole tent on Friday afternoon, leveled the tables on the high side, and hung two strands of bistro lights down the peak. The storm hit at 4 PM Saturday. The party kept going. That is what we mean by party rentals — the gear shows up, the setup just works, and you get to host instead of haul.

Party Rentals by Event Type

Every celebration has a rhythm. Here is what we typically rent for each.

Graduation Parties

Peak season runs from the last weekend in May through the third week of June. Most NJ high-school and college graduations cluster into the same three Saturdays — book early. Typical guest count is 40 to 100 (immediate family, neighbors, friends from school). The standard rental package is a 20x30 or 20x40 pole tent, 8 to 12 round tables with chairs, a folding-table food line on the patio, and one strand of bistro lights for the evening hours. Add a 12x12 dance floor if the graduate wants one.

Milestone Birthdays (Sweet 16, 40th, 50th, 60th)

Milestone birthdays in NJ split into two camps: tented-backyard celebrations (40 to 120 guests, dinner-and-dancing setup) and casual cocktail-style parties (cocktail tables, a small lounge zone, lighter food). Sweet 16s lean heavier on lighting and a real dance floor; 50th and 60th birthdays lean toward seated dinner under the tent. We can bundle tables and chairs with linens to match the color scheme.

Bridal & Baby Showers

Showers are usually 20 to 50 guests in someone's backyard or on a patio. A 20x20 frame tent fits the group with room for a gift table and a dessert station. Round tables of 8 work better than long banquet tables — guests can actually see each other. Add a couple of cocktail tables near the bar and an arched ceremony arch or backdrop if the host wants a photo wall. Most showers run 11 AM to 3 PM — single-day rental, no evening lighting needed.

Anniversary Parties

25th and 50th anniversary parties are some of our favorite events — multi-generational, often surprise, and the guest list trends toward 60 to 150 people. The setup looks a lot like a small wedding: a tent large enough to seat everyone, dance floor, lighting, and linen-dressed tables. We have set up plenty of 50th anniversary parties in the same backyards where the couple's kids got married a decade earlier.

Family Reunions

Reunions run big — 80 to 200 guests, mixed ages, daytime-into-evening. The challenge is shade for the kids and a sit-down area for the grandparents. A 30x60 or two 20x40 tents handle a 150-person reunion well. We add a separate kids' table cluster (lower folding tables, kid-friendly chairs), a beverage station with coolers, and a generator if the property is large enough that running extension cords from the house is not practical.

Backyard BBQs

BBQ rentals are the most casual — a tent for shade, folding tables for the food line, coolers full of ice, and enough chairs that nobody is standing for two hours. We carry commercial-grade grills for hosts who want to feed 100 people without burning out a household propane tank. Add a few high-tops near the cooler for the standing-around-with-a-beer crowd.

Holiday Parties (Christmas, July 4th, Memorial Day)

Summer holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) are our absolute peak — book 8 to 12 weeks ahead. December holiday parties usually move indoors or under heated tents; we have propane patio heaters and enclosed sidewalls that turn a winter tent into a usable space down to about 35 degrees. Corporate holiday parties follow the same playbook with a bit more polish on linens and lighting.

What's Typically Rented for a Party

The gear list below covers 95% of backyard parties across our service area.

Tents

Sizes from 10x10 (small cocktail crowd) up to 30x40 (100+ guests with dancing). The most common backyard size is a 20x30 pole tent — it seats about 50 with round tables and leaves room for a small bar or dessert station. Full tent rental options are listed on the tent page.

Tables & Chairs

60-inch round tables seat 8 to 10. 6-foot rectangular tables work better for food lines and kids' tables. Folding chairs handle casual parties; padded white chairs feel nicer for anything over two hours of seated time. Kids' tables and chairs available for parties with under-10 guests.

Lighting

Bistro string lights (also called café lights) hung along the tent peak are the single biggest upgrade you can make to an evening party. One strand covers a 20x30 tent. Add a second strand for 20x40 or larger. Battery-powered uplights work for color-themed parties (sweet 16, milestone birthdays).

Food Service

Chafing dishes (8-quart and 12-quart), commercial coolers, beverage tubs, drink dispensers, propane grills, and serving utensils. If you're self-catering, the food-service rental is what separates a smooth party from a chaotic one — get the chafers.

Climate Control

High-velocity fans for July and August parties. Propane patio heaters for spring and fall shoulder-season events. Enclosed sidewalls block wind, rain, and bugs — add them to all four sides for a fully closed tent or just the windward side as a breeze block.

Rental Duration

Standard party rental covers Friday setup through Sunday or Monday pickup at the same single-day price. Same-day pickup is available if needed. Multi-day events (Friday-Saturday-Sunday family reunions) get a discounted multi-day rate — ask when you request a quote.

NJ Party Rental Costs

Every event is custom, but here are the three tiers most NJ backyard parties fall into.

Mid-size party, 40-75 guests

20x30 or 20x40 pole tent, 6 to 10 round tables with chairs, one strand of bistro lights, a small dance floor, and food-service equipment. The most common party we set up.

We deliver across Hunterdon, Somerset, Morris, and Warren counties as our standard service area. Delivery beyond that range is quoted per mile. Every event is custom — your yard, your guest list, and your date all affect the final number. Request a quote for accurate pricing on your specific event.

Booking & Delivery

Book 2 to 4 weeks ahead for standard backyard parties. Most weekday and shoulder-weekend dates are open within that window. If you have a specific tent size in mind, the earlier you call, the higher the chance it is still available.

Book 6 to 12 weeks ahead for peak weekends. Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and graduation Saturdays in late May and early June book out first. Saturdays in June are the single tightest inventory day on our calendar — that is when graduations, end-of-school-year parties, and early-summer weddings all hit at once.

Setup happens 4 to 24 hours before your event. Most tents are set the day before; tables, chairs, and lighting often go in the morning of. Pickup is the day after (sometimes Monday morning for Saturday parties). You do not need to be home for setup — we just need driveway access and a clear setup area.

Same-day delivery is available within our standard service area for urgent rentals — last-minute weather pivots, forgotten chairs for an indoor event, or a family member who decided to host on three days' notice. Call early in the day and we will do our best.
